Out of RISE? Here's What You Can Do Right Now

We know you depend on RISE to get you through the mornings. Hell, we do too.

Because of incredible demand (thanks for loving RISE) and how COVID has affected the supply chain, we’re currently out of stock.

Our first priority is getting it to you, and to us, as we’re also without our favorite way to greet the morning and smash through the day.

But that’s not an excuse for us to idly sit by and wait for RISE to get back in our hands – and it shouldn’t be for you either.

Of course, you could go out and buy an electrolyte replacement, PQQ (or another nootropic), an antioxidant blend, and a few others, but that’s a pain, expensive, and a lot of pills to take every morning.

We care about your wellness and success first and foremost. So, here are our top tips to make your morning rock on while we all wait for that sweet little packet of RISE to arrive soon! Even better, most of these are free or cost very little.

Hydrate (Electrolyte Replacement)

You’ve gone an entire night and a good portion of the morning without drinking a single drop of water.

The result is mild dehydration. That means you’re physically fatigued, tired, can’t focus, maybe even some memory issues (where did I put my wallet/car keys/computer?), and are just generally not a well hydrated camper.

Dehydration is the major reason why mornings can be so miserable for folks.

Even though your body temperature cools down in the middle of the night, you still lost a bunch of water through respiration, normal bodily functions, and some sweating if your thermostat was set too high (68 degrees F is ideal).

That means you need to replace your fluids ASAP.

Go grab a glass of filtered water, mix in a pinch of Himalayan salt – if you have it, sea salt if you don’t – and drink it.

The salt will help you replenish many of your electrolytes and get you started on a great day.

For bonus points, squeeze a bit of lemon juice in there to replace some of the vitamin C from RISE, as well.

B Vitamins & ORAC (Antioxidant) Replacement

We recommend you eat 3 times a day to go along with your circadian rhythm. One of those times, obviously, is breakfast.

RISE is a great way to ensure you get some vital, much-needed nutrition first thing in A-M, but ideally, you should also have something to eat (or drink).

RISE contains plenty of B vitamins, especially B12, to help you have lasting energy throughout the day. If you’re not vegan, eggs, cheeses, and yogurt are your best breakfast options.

Vegans need to rely on foods fortified with B12 (like plant-based milks, nutritional yeast, etc) or a supplement. As many as 92% of vegans are B12 deficient and it can cause a whole host of issues. So if you’re vegan, you absolutely MUST check labels and make sure you’re getting B12.

Part of RISE’s attractiveness is how quick and easy it is. Trying to get a full meal in while getting ready for work, trying to get in workout in, and getting the kids off to summer school/set for a day of parental freedom might seem nearly impossible for you.

Rather than cooking breakfast, grab a blender and you’ll have a “meal” in about 5 minutes.

Vegan Breakfast Smoothie

  • ½ frozen banana
  • ½ cup fruit
  • 3 TBSP Hemp Seeds (optional)
  • 1 Serving Vegan Vanilla Protein
  • ½ Cup Non-Dairy Milk or Juice

As an alternative, you can replace the milk with yogurt for a creamier, thicker smoothie.

The fruit will give you much-needed antioxidant support to help prevent oxidative stress throughout the day. The addition of protein and hemp seeds (fiber) are designed to give you lasting nutrition so you don’t feel hungry before lunch.

Replacing the Nootropics in RISE

PQQ and NeuroFactor® are two nootropics shown in studies to increase key neuroproteins (BDNF – brain-derived neurotrophic factor) that support learning and memory.*

There’s not a great food replacement for nootropics that doesn’t have caffeine in it that will have an immediate impact.

Choline in eggs, fatty fish with their omega-3s, and anthocyanin-rich blueberries will help you in the long-term, but if you’re looking for something immediate, meditation is the way to go.

In one study, just 10 minutes of meditation was able to increase focus, memory, and mood.

A 7-year study showed sustained improvement in memory. The more participants meditated, the better memories they had at the end of the study.

Pictures have been taken of brains to prove meditation offers significant improvement.

Better yet, you don’t even have to be experienced to start feeling better. You can be an absolute beginner and find yourself smiling more throughout the day.

The point is: there are dozens of studies that prove the benefits of meditation. The tricky part is proving to yourself you can do it. Most people don’t meditate because they think they can’t.

But you can. And yes, it’s 100% okay if your brain wanders.

How to Meditate (for Beginners)

You don’t need to meditate like Buddhist monks. It only takes a few minutes. You can get by with 5, but 10 minutes a day is ideal. Yes, 10 minutes in the morning is precious time indeed. And kids can ruin your schedule in one yell.

So here’s what you do…

Go to your bathroom. Get comfy on your toilet seat. (Your bed or a chair would be better, but your bathroom is usually a kid-free zone and you’re unlikely to fall asleep on the toilet).  Set a gentle alarm for 5-10 minutes – something that’s not going to scare you out of your reverie and double your heart rate.

Then focus on your breathing. Whisper “in” and “out”  as you inhale and exhale, if that helps. Keep it in your head if that works better for you.

Remember, it’s okay if your mind wanders. Just go back to focusing on your breathing. If it takes 8 minutes to refocus, it takes 8 minutes. When you meditate tomorrow, work at returning to your breath faster.

Yes, it’s really that simple. The key is to not beat yourself over it and keep practicing even when it feels difficult.

What to Do if You Don’t Have RISE

Once again, we’re sorry we’re out of stock. We’re working to get it back into your hands as quickly as possible.

While not a replacement for RISE, you can do the following to support your daily wellness first thing in the morning:

  • Drink a glass of lemon water and salt as soon as you wake up
  • Have an antioxidant-rich breakfast smoothie (being sure to get your B12)
  • Meditate for about 10 minutes

Even once you do get your morning citrus/coconut blast, you’ll still see a big boost to your happiness, health, and wellness by continuing this little morning ritual.
