Forever Forward: October Monthly Mantra
Here at MANTRA Labs, we are committed to the journey of becoming our best selves every day. While our supplements can help you physically, it is our habits and mindset that create the life we want. For October our monthly mantra is FOREVER FORWARD.
We developed our monthly mantras from having breakdowns and breakthroughs. We don’t only want to sell you products; we want to help you live your life to the fullest. The lessons that we have learned (and continue to re-learn!) guide our lives and guide this business. We hope each new monthly mantra inspires you to reach new heights, too.
Let’s get back to October’s mantra.
Progressing forever forward is about picking yourself up when you get knocked down. It’s about having goals and consistently striving to reach them. This isn’t to say life won’t knock you down, but remember - stumble if you have too, roll if you need to, but push forward.
So, how do we progress forever forward? Here are a few ways.
Clearly Define Your Goals
One of the best ways to solidify your goal and keep track of it is by writing it on a physical piece of paper. There is a reason why you’re setting this goal. Write that down. Your goal will affect certain people in your life. Write their name(s) down. Refer back to the paper while you work toward the goal to ensure you are pressing toward it, forever forward.
Know the Small Goals Along the Way
Amazing happens incrementally, not over night. This is why pressing forever forward is a great mantra. If you have the goal of bench pressing 200 pounds, but have a current max of 125, you won’t magically put 200 pounds on the bar and expect yourself to lift it. You must work up to 200 pounds by gradually lifting more weight over a few months. Your muscles have to grow – most goals are the same way. Progressing toward your goals can be slow, but establishing benchmarks allows you to celebrate the small goals achieved along the way.
Maintain a Positive Attitude
Believe in yourself! Achieving your goals will be far from easy if you don’t believe you can do it. As they say - “Whether you think you can or you can’t - you are right!”. Negativity is a great inhibitor to progress. Remind yourself of all the hard things you have already accomplished and consider making a list of things you like about yourself. This can empower you to acknowledge your ability to achieve hard goals.
Handle Setbacks
Having a routinely positive attitude will prepare you for the roadblocks you come across. Achieving any worthwhile goal is bound to be accompanied by challenges. The trick is to bounce back up shortly after you are knocked down. When one door closes, look for another. If Thomas Eddison hadn’t ever failed, he would have never invented the lightbulb. Keep striving until you invent your own figurative lightbulb, and don’t let a fear of failure hold you back.
Surround Yourself with Support
Think about how people recovering from addiction need sponsors or how a football team needs a loud crowd and supportive cheerleaders. When you surround yourself with people who care as much about your success as you do, you’re more likely to succeed. Personal trainers can help you achieve fitness goals while mentors can help you reach life goals. Similarly, good friends and family members can help you accomplish anything by cheering you on. Who is in your circle? Choose wisely!
Celebrate the Victories – Small or Big
